Boudoir: Mona Lisa Smile

The sun finally shone today which meant I could finally try those 2 other pegs I was thinking of taking before the photo-shoot I asked my friends to do/pose for (and with) me.   I had a lot of errands to do though so by the time I got home, I had about only 30 minutes or so of light.

I had to set-up quickly for this shoot – compensate for the light with just a spotlight lamp with warm white light that I have not for photography actually but as a reading light… I really do prefer natural light as much as possible. I set my camera to my own customized setting – ISO 400, F2 apperture, and 1/6 shutter speed – and as usual practiced on myself.

I have to admit, yes, I processed this a bit – played with the saturation and temperature levels to get a “rosy” look. But that’s it, nothing more. The photographs in their original color have a nice warm tinge to them, but I was aiming for this kind of feel – subtly naughty but romantic.

And so I’m calling this series… Mona Lisa Smile.
